Monday 11/16– 7th Grade (6*, 7*) and Tuesday 11/17 (1*)

·         Finish “Lamb” partner activity

 Homework:  Complete November “Lazy Editor” packet, then make corrections on p. 30 and 31 of November Scope article.  Due Thursday 11/19

Didn’t pay for your team t-shirt?  Please do that by this Friday. 

Monday 11/16 – 8th  Grade (3*, 4*)

·         Review and glue homophone, pronoun, and sentence structure notes into comp book from our returned homework packet
·         “Street Music” brainstorm and poem draft in comp book

Tuesday 11/17 – 8th Grade (2*, 3*, 4*)
·         SWT 11/17 – Paris

·         2* only = glue in pronoun notes from homework packet
·         Finish “Street Music” poem in comp book

Homework: Complete November “Lazy Editor” packet, then make corrections on p. 30 and 31 of November Scope article.  Due Friday 11/20

HomeworkDue Friday = November “Lazy Editor” packet, then read article on p. 30-31 of Scope and make corrections directly in magazine.

Due after Thanksgiving break = completed Shape poem (check out Google images).  Try typing it up or use ink when creating your final draft.  Must be on 8.5x11 inch paper (typical printer paper)

Wednesday 11/18 – 7th Grade (6*, 7*, 1*)
·         SWT 11/18 – Paris
·         Review and staple into comp book “Lamb to the Slaughter” plot diagram activity
·         Glue in “Lazy Editor” notes – pronouns, homophones, sentence structure

·         “Read, Think, Explain” activity with narrative non-fiction piece


Homework:  Due Tuesday 11/24 (before Thanksgiving Break!) – read Nov Scope p. 4-8 and complete p. 2 & 3 of “Read, Think, Explain” packet
Friday 11/20 – 8th Grade (2*, 3*, 4*)
·         SWT 11/20
·         Review and turn in Nov. “Lazy Editor” packet
·         Love That Dog
·         Notes on the history and poetic structure of The Blues (poetry examples by Walter Dean Myers and Langston Hughes)

Homework:  On a white 8.5x11” paper (either portrait or landscape) create your Shape Poem.  Google “Shape Poem” and check out the images for inspiration.  Use most of the page; type it or create final draft in ink (colored ink is fine).  Due after Thanksgiving Break on Tues 12/1, so you have plenty of time to make it ah-mazing!
