** Academic Warning Notices go out this week.  If you are earning a C or below in English as of 5:00 PM Monday evening, you’ll be getting a notice in the mail in about a week and a half.  By then, your grade may be different, so keep checking Infinite Campus weekly.

·         Begin essay outline for poem analysis

Homework:  Tomorrow = quiz on “Rocket’s Red Glare” play from Scope.  Review the play and the essay on singing the National Anthem at sporting events.  You may use the text for the quiz.

Due tomorrow = 9/11 Extra Credit opportunity and “Poetry Dive” packet

Thursday 9/11 – 7^th Grade (6*, 7*, 1* 20 minute classes)

·         9/11 SWT

·         Review “Poetry Dive” and turn in packet

·         Mini lesson on “tone” and hand out “What’s the Tone” homework packet

Homework:  Quiz on Monday on “Rocket’s Red Glare” play from Scope.  Review the play and the essay on singing the National Anthem at sporting events.  You may use the text for the quiz.

Due Friday 9/19 = Read Scope magazine, pages 17-21 and complete “What’s The Tone?” packet.

Friday 9/12 – 7^th Grade (7*, 1*)

·         Counselor’s Presentation on Bullying and Anti-bullying Measures

Due Friday 9/19 = Read Scope magazine, pages 17-21 and complete “What’s The Tone?” packet.

Friday 9/12 – 8^th Grade (2*, 3*, 4*)

·         Review of “tone” and hand out “What’s the Tone” homework packet

·         Finish final 2 group presentations on yesterday’s 9/11 articles

·         Continue writing poetry analysis essay – will be typing final draft on Wednesday
